12 Jummas tortured in Majolong, Sajek

A belated report said 12 Jumma villagers were tortured in a remote
village in Majolong under Sajek Union of Rangamati district.

It said a group of army personnel from Majolong camp raided the
village of Milonpara at about 10pm on 9 November.

The victims were watching a film in a house in celebration of one of
their relative’s birthday.

The soldiers entered the house and picked up 12 of the villagers. They
were taken to the camp and tortured. However, they were released the
next day.

Six of the victims have been identified. They are Boren Chakma (21),
Battya Chakma (26), Bata Tripura (32), Monakya Chakma (20), Sidharth
Chakma (30) and Khuku Moni Chakma (20).
