JSS (Santu) men attack UPDF office in Ghagra

Members of the Santu faction of the Jana Samhati Samiti have attacked UPDF office in Ghagra under Rangamati district.

UPDF sources said the JSS thugs ransacked the office at around 5pm today, destroying computers and other office materials.

“They came in a procession and attacked the office” Michael Chakma told chtnews.com by mobile phone and added that “police and members of other so-called security forces remained silent spectator as usual.”

The attack comes one day after the kidnapping of Raju Tanchangya from the same area. He was kidnapped yesterday from a tea shop while meeting with friends there. He has not been traced since then.

Local UPDF members said they had been trying to file a case in connection with the kidnapping of Raju Tanchangya, but that police had refused to accept the case, without providing any reason.
