BCP poster against UPDF and UNDP

The Bangalee Chattra Parishad (BCP), an ultra-communal organisation of the settlers backed by the military, has put up posters against United People’s Democratic Front and UNDP in Laxmichari. (photo attached)

One of the posters reads: “Parbattya Banglee Chattra Parishad makes call: Down with UPDF and UNDP.”

Another says: “Collaborators of UPDF, Beware!”

There is no report of such posters being put up in other parts of the Chittagong Hill Tracts.

A resident of Laxmichari town told chtnews.com on condition of anonymity that there was no presence of BCP in Laxmichari. He said “it (setting up of posters on walls) is the work of zone commander Shariful Islam.”

“In fact, it is the soldiers who have put up the posters in the name of BCP.” he added.

The army also tore down the posters put up by PCP-DYF-HWF announcing their joint conference of Khagrachari District Units.
