One arrested, released later in Laxmichari

One Jumma villager was arrested in an army raid last night in Laxmichari under Khagrachari district. However, he was released later, sources said.

According to sources, a group of army personnel led by Laxmichari zone commander Lt. Col. Shariful Islam raided Morachengey Dor area at around 8pm.

“We heard Sharif ordering his men to shoot anyone running away”, one villager told chtnews.com.

Later, the soldiers picked up Bitti Chakma (32 years) s/o Tambul Charan Chakma of Jatindra Karbari Para village from the passenger shed at Badipara.

They took him up to Shilachari, near the army camp and released him from there.
