Lt. Col. Sharif admits to his involvement in Rui Khoi murder

Lt. Col. Shariful Islam, Commander of Laxmichari zone, has admitted to his involvement in the murder of UPDF leader Rui Khoi Marma.

Sharif made his admission while addressing a monthly law and order review meeting held at his office yesterday.

The Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO), UP members and chairmen and headmen of Laxmichari Upazila took part in the meeting.

Alluding to the 2 October murder of Rui Khoi Marma, Mr. Sharif said he had finally been able to “fell a big tree” and that he had begun to strike at the “heart of the UPDF”.

A UP member told chtnews.com on condition of anonymity that “from his (Sharif) address it is abundantly clear that he is the mastermind behind the killing of Rui Khoi Marma.”

He said Sharif had also called upon “all the headmen under house arrest” to come out without fear as the “big tree had been fallen down”.
